Tennis Pickleball Merge

Prospect News – The United States Court Tennis Association has made the first approach to the United States Pickleball Association for merging these two bodies into one. With the rapid development of pickleball in the U.S. and torpid growth of tennis President, Mr. Jim Whenton, anticipates the pickleball growth to overtake tennis in many cities. He states, “We see the expansion and saw where we can be a part of this great new sport. That is why we made the pickleball nationals in Indian Wells Tennis Garden as part of our merge. The people are warm and true competitors willing to make the transition into our games. Tennis is making its debut as a partner in pickleball with allowances for tournaments and promotion. We already have many tennis pros playing pickleball and enjoying the best of times while encouraging new players onto the court.” Andy Roddick, professional tennis player, has already shown his prowess in pickleball and become a YouTube sensation. Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic are seeking sponsors as they make the transition. Courts for tennis are being transformed into pickleball with a total of 8 people playing compared to only 4 players for tennis. Games are shorter and more players can compete more often. – John E.
